Snorkelling is a practice suitable for everyone: it’s ideal for people who have never worn a mask but keep on wandering “what’s there to be found under the sea surface”.
Snorkelling is the master key to the freediving world: roaming around with your diving mask, snorkel and fins to discover sea’s secrets that are hidden in the very first metres. It’s the easiest way to get closer to living organisms and observe their behavior and adaptation to the surrounding habitat.
The SSI Snorkelling Course represents the first step to become a freediver or even a SCUBA diver.
Thanks to the Snorkelling course you’ll learn all the right techniques in order to move harmoniously below and above the water surface and turn every output into a fantastic experience to tell and remember!
A minimum age is not expected when enrolling to a snorkelling course, it’s sufficient to be able to float without any difficulties.
At the completion of the course a snorkelling patent is released.
The Tribù Diving Academy is the only Diving Centre in the area to provide for Snorkelling outputs. These outings are carried out by our marine biologists and environmental spreaders who are equipped with educational mediums to allow the identification of species and describe their habitats.
Snorkelling tracks are accessible to everyone, allowing the exploration of sandy floors and rocky environments with caves and gorges. It’s more than biology: during these outputs a lot of time is given to the history and tradition of the places explored.
These outings take place within the Portovenere Park and along the coast of Lerici between San Terenzo and Tellaro.
In 2012 we especially created for the coast along Lerici, upon council’s mandate, nine tracks to serve the “Lerici Seawatching” project.
