CALA PICCOLA

It’s a moderate size inlet found immediately after the Cala Grande.

This dive site is very easy to do, nonetheless it’s rich with satisfactions and peculiar encounters. The bottom is scattered with boulders and this is an ideal place to find shelter but also prepare an ambush, as testified by the presence and absolute immobility of some big scorpion-fish. This face is very indented: thanks to its peculiarity, the environment makes an execellent example of a cave enclave: it’s possible to admire sponges, cnidarians and serpula. A common encounter is the one with the king of mullets, easily recognizable thanks to its red colour: one of this little fish peculiarities is that it’s the male taking care of the offspring, brooding the eggs in its mouth during all the incubation time.
